Yes, we're weird - we had a 10th birthday party for our cat, and we're proud of it!

Our family will find any reason to celebrate and eat Ice Cream Cake! This fantastic cat has been a part of our lives for 10 years now, and I'm so glad he's my cat! And, yes, that is his present sitting on the table. Besides the ice cream cake, Dane wrapped up a flea treatment in the bag for C. John to open. Needless to say, the cat was less than enthused. He did eat some cake, though, and he seemed to enjoy it until he got scared away by the crazy 3 year old that lives in our house!

So, Happy Birthday to C. John Ronnie Brown!

Yes, that is weird, but I have to admit he is a good cat. Speaking of good cats, if anyone is interested in owning a direct descendant of the General, we believe she is due in about 40 days.

Hey Mary, where did you get the name C. JOhn Ronnie Brown? I had always wondered what your email address meant, and now it is making sense...at least a little bit anyway. lol

To answer Alicia's question, we always try to name our animals with people names and not typical pet names, and Joe David and his high school friends used to make up names for each other that started with the letter C. before the name, and it evolved from there. C. John was born around that time, and we thought that was a good approach to naming a cat, too. It's mainly silly and doesn't really make sense whenever I try to explain it to people, so really it just boils down to the fact that we were being silly, as usual, and we thought the name sounded pretty funny. And, yes, my email address refers to my cat.
