First Tub Bath!

This one is like a picture my mom took of me about this age, so I was so glad to get it!

Splash, Splash, Splash!

This one's my favorite!

Clap, Clap, Clap! Our new favorite thing to do.

We went to Lane's parents' house in Houston for Thanksgiving this week, and while we were there, Dane got his first big bathtub bath. We had so much fun, and there are only a couple of pictures that will have to be edited for censorship purposes. Those, of course, will not be posted here on the blog. The big highlights were his gulping of the bath water in a cup, followed by his standing up! The child has no fear! Well, I take that back. This morning, before we left their house, we got my in-laws' Big Billy Bass toy out, and Dane is absolutely terrified of it. It was so sad, but also so very funny.

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! Have a great weekend!

Holiday Fun!

Well, as you can see, we are all about Christmas and the holidays leading up to it! We already put our tree up a little early, so that we could take our Christmas picture for our Christmas card. So, tonight, I thought Dane might enjoy the lights before I got him ready for bed. I love seeing the wonder in his eyes. I wish I knew exactly what he thinks about. He probably thinks that his parents are crazy for putting the Christmas tree up a week before Thanksgiving! Anyway, we've got a busy week coming up, so it's nice to be able to sit back and enjoy these sweet moments!

Great Holiday Fun in Kilgore!

Tonight, we had so much fun! In downtown Kilgore, they had a program tonight to light up the Christmas lights and oil derricks in town. A lot of people performed, along with a grand finale by the Kilgore Rangerettes. Dane had great fun and enjoyed all of the music and lights. We took some pretty good pictures, too!

Such a Busy Boy!

It's a normal evening in the Brown household, and Dane is sitting in his Tonka truck, drinking his bedtime bottle of milk! This is his new favorite spot to sit lately. I had given him his bottle, and I was finishing loading the dishwasher. When I entered the room, he had climbed up in his truck to drink his bottle. I thought it was a pretty good photo op. I just wish the rest of the room was picked up. Oh well, there will be time for that after he goes to bed. There's not a whole lot going on tonight. We are just getting in from church from Monday Night for the Master. Tomorrow, we have the day off, so we're going to really enjoy it! Hope you have a great evening.

I'm a little bored tonight

Well, Lane has gone to Dallas tonight, for an LTC Coordinator meeting tomorrow morning, so I'm having a night to catch up on "me" things, which mainly entails watching The Food Network and rearranging furniture. Dane and I had a great day together today. We took a long walk around the neighborhood and had a DiGiorno pizza for dinner, and mainly just played our little hearts out. Dane is growing up so fast. He talks all the time (very little of which I understand), but it's just so sweet. I gave him his bath early tonight, and he got really sleepy early, and went to bed at about 7 :30. He has gotten so attached to his "Mr. Monkey" stuffed animal, so once he had his passy and Mr. Monkey, he went and stood by his crib and waited for me to put him to bed. He's just the sweetest thing that I could ever imagine a little boy to be! How God blesses me constantly with joy! While we really miss Lane when he's gone, and we have so much fun all together, it really is nice to have my special "Mom and Son" moments with Dane. Oh, and by the way, at his 12 month checkup this week, it was confirmed (for the second time), by a medical doctor, that he is absolutely perfect. Of course, I already knew that all along. Just kidding. His appointment went great, and he weighed in at 21 lbs. 2 ozs., and is now 31 inches long. He's in the 25th-50th percentile in weight, and 75th-90th in height. I'm just so proud of him. Anyway, enough of my motherly ramblings - I just had to let some of it out tonight. Have a great weekend!

First Time Blogger

Well, I guess it's time that I, too, jump on the blogging bandwagon! It seems that it is the cool thing for new moms to do. It's late, and I just finished doing the bank statement and paying bills, so there won't be much for me to say tonight. I just want to see how this thing works. I wonder how you attach pictures to these things? I'll just learn as I go, I guess. Ah, I just figured it out. Thank goodness for the tool bar! I hope you enjoy my ramblings, and especially the pictures of our precious little buddy! Most of them are from Halloween, when he dressed up as James Bond!!! Ta-Ta!
