Way to go, Lane! We're proud of you!

I have been a horrible blogger this past month, so I'm going to try to make up for it this week, possibly even all in a day, imagine that! We'll see - it all depends on how long Sydni decides to nap! This month, both Dane and Sydni have been sick, so I just never could quite get it all together.

Back in March, we made a trip up to Harding. For those of you who don't know, Lane has been working on his Master's degree in Ministry from Harding, and he was chosen by his department head to be inducted into the collegiate honors society, Alpha Chi. I am so proud of him for all of the hard work he has done, and it's nice to see that hard work be rewarded, too. All of the inductees are in the top 10% of their fields of study. So, we made the trip up for his induction. Actually, we were one person short, since Dane decided to stay with J.J., and we picked him up on the way home. Not that we didn't miss Dane, but it was neat to make a trip with just Sydni, too. We went to Laura's birthday party on the way, and then drove to Little Rock to spend the night. I got some great pictures of Sydni in the hotel room in front of the closet mirror. She played there for a long time.

Sunday morning, we drove on up to Searcy in time to worship at the College Church of Christ. We met up with a couple of Deer Run guys at church, Andy and Scott, who are in school up there, and we ate a good lunch at Chili's with them and got to visit some. Then, we headed on to the induction ceremony, which was really nice. After the ceremony, all of the members had a meeting to elect officers for next year, and Lane was elected as the Student Delegate to next year's national Alpha Chi convention, so that was pretty cool!

After the ceremony and reception, I got these sweet pictures of the brilliant man and his beautiful, proud daughter. I like how Sydni's holding onto Lane's tie.

Before we left town, we changed clothes and walked around campus for a few minutes. It was such a beautiful day, and it brought back a lot of wonderful memories of my time spent at Harding. So, Lane took this picture of Sydni and me in front of the beautiful front lawn. My old dorm, Kendall Hall, is in the background to the right. Some great times were had in that building!

It was a nice, quick trip, and believe it or not, Lane completely behaved himself the whole time! He didn't even catch the building on fire with his little candle! No, I'm very proud of the dedication and hard work he's been putting into his studies, and I'm looking forward to his graduation next year!

Maybe he can become the national president of Alpha Chi next. Would that make you the first lady of it? I think the pictures of Sydni in her church clothes up there are some of her sweetest. Love y'all!
