Hawaii Vacation - Sept 12 - Hilo - Lane & Kids About Town

For our first full day in Hawaii, I was scheduled to go with Shayne and Tyler on a zip line tour, so while we were gone, Billie & Caleb gave Lane and the kids a tour around some of the sights of Hilo. They visited a local market, enjoyed some authentic Hawaiian shaved ice, and had their first taste of the wonderful salty ocean water at a local beach park.

This was the neatest beach park. It was great for kids because they had made a wall of huge boulders to break the waves to create a nice, calm swimming area. It was about 4 feet deep throughout, and for the most part, it had a nice sandy bottom. Lane took us back here to swim again later on in the week.
